HDPE Polyplast Geomembrane Sheet - India Price Guide 2026.

What Is HDPE Geomembrane Sheet?

HDPE geomembrane sheets are low-permeability synthetic liners produced of the polyethylene resin of high density (97.5 per cent polymer, 2.5 per cent carbon black, antioxidants and UV stabilizers). They offer fluid and gas containment barriers that are impermeable in both environmental, civil and industrial applications. They come in both smooth and textured finishes and are produced by means of highly sophisticated technology in blown film extrusion.

Indian supplies on IndiaMART offer between ₹70/sqm (0.3-2.5 mm thickness Kolkata) and ₹150/sqm (custom/thicker options with suppliers in Thane and Alwar), with some of the suppliers quoted per kilogram at ₹115/kg. There are suppliers in Ahmedabad and Jaipur that offer geomembranes beginning at 0.5 mm with 0.5 mm thickness that start at ₹50 to 95/sqm.

Sheets are 2.0-3.0 mm thick, most common in landfills and mining, and 0.5-1.5 mm, most common in ponds and canals. Textured geomembranes (to gain slope stability) cost 10-20 percent more than smooth.

Present Price in India (2026)

According to the IndiaMART, TradeIndia and ExportersIndia listing, the price range is as follows:

Raw Material Cost

The most important price factor is HDPE raw material (resin pellets) which usually occupies 60-75 percent of the overall price. International oil prices, supply and demand, and fluctuation in the exchange rates influence its price.

Virgin vs. Recycled Resin

Virgin HDPE, which complies with GRI-GM13 requirements, is 20-30 percent more expensive than recycled material, but has lifespans of 40-50 years versus 5-15 years with recycled products.

Smooth vs. Textured Surface.

Textured versions are applied on slopes to provide greater grip, and they are priced 10-20% higher than smooth sheets.

Certifications & Standards

GRI-GM13 compliance can add 10-20 percent to costs but guarantees 95 percent containment efficiency.

Order Volume

Big purchases come with huge discounts - normally, 8-15 percent when it comes to big projects.

Best Indian Manufacturers and Suppliers.

In India, the key manufacturers and suppliers of HDPE geomembranes are Singhal industries Pvt. Ltd. (Rajkot) Gayatri Polymers and Geosynthetics (Vadodara), Polycan Extrusion Pvt. Ltd. (Ahmedabad) Ocean Non Wovens Pvt Ltd. (Delhi), and Dugar Polymers Limited (Dadra), among many others spread across the country

typical Indian Uses.

The most common uses of HDPE geomembranes include:

  1. Farm ponds and irrigation - 0.5 mm sheets to retain water.
  2. Aquaculture / fish farming - non-toxic liners used in food-grade.
  3. Canal and dam lining - loss of seepage.
  4. Landfill liners - solid waste containment.
  5. Leachate pad mining-chemical resistant barriers.
  6. Rooftop/basement waterproofing - construction projects.

These sheets have widespread applications in areas like solid waste containment, mining leachate ponds, aquaculture, agriculture ponds and water reservoirs.

2026 Market Outlook

The geomembrane market is currently worth 2.61 billion in 2025, but its revenue is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.61 percent through 2030 with HDPE geomembranes having a 31.7 share in the revenue because of their high durability, resistance to chemicals, and cost-effectiveness.

Asia-Pacific, China and India, are the top producers of HDPE geomembrane demand in the world, with 45 percent of the total demand stemming out of waste management and water conservation projects. In India, the prices will be competitive because of a high local production level.

Buying Tips

Before deciding: compare per-sqm prices of at least 3-5 suppliers on IndiaMART, TradeIndia or ExportersIndia.

  1. Clear on thickness - there is a very large difference between 0.5 mm and 3 mm.
  2. Request BIS IS 15351:2015 compliance on the quality assurance of Indian projects.
  3. Discuss bulk discounts - when the order size is large (1,000+ sqm), it is common to receive 8-15 percent discounts.
  4. Favor local manufacturers - suppliers located in Gujarat (Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara) and Delhi NCR are likely to provide good rates and quick delivery.

CautionaryPrices are indicative and can change depending on market data that is available and other factors such as supplier, region, order quantity, and the current cost of raw materials. Always insist on a new quotation to the manufacturer so as to get the proper cost of the project.
